A Fresh Take on a Breckenridge Classic

Design Inspiration

This kitchen transformation blends Bridgewood Cabinetry in their Java and Accessible Beige finishes for a refined, natural palette. A seamless designer–builder collaboration with Great Divide Builders turned a dated chalet into a warm, modern retreat.

There’s nothing we love more than seeing a space completely transformed — and this recent project with Great Divide Builders is the perfect example. Working alongside one of our favorite design-build partners, we helped reimagine a dated Breckenridge ski chalet into a warm, modern retreat filled with custom cabinetry and thoughtful design details.

Before: A Home in Need of Fresh Vision

The original home featured tired finishes, dark countertops, and raised panel cabinetry. While it had good bones and a functional layout, the design felt dated and didn’t reflect the homeowners’ style or needs. Rooms felt closed off, with limited natural flow and little connection between the living, kitchen, and dining spaces.

After: Modern Comfort Meets Timeless Craftsmanship

By collaborating closely with Great Divide Builders, we elevated the interiors with Bridgewood Cabinetry, including an oversized island great for entertaining, a custom matching hood vent, and integrated storage solutions that completely redefined the home’s personality. The result is a perfect balance of clean lines, natural warmth, and elevated function.

Kitchen

The kitchen is the heart of this transformation. By removing the upper cabinetry that once blocked the view to the living area, we created a seamless connection between the spaces. Out went the dated cabinetry and black appliances — replaced with panel-ready appliances, earthy wood accents, and crisp, bright painted cabinetry. Taj Mahal quartzite countertops (a designer favorite!) with a mitered edge beautifully complement the mix of painted and stained finishes. The blend of warm wood tones and soft neutrals adds depth and dimension without overwhelming the space.

Bar & Entertaining Space

The new bar and dining area reimagines a former living room and powder bath, transforming them into a functional and inviting dining space. Designed for effortless entertaining, it features floor-to-ceiling cabinetry paired with floating shelves, creating the perfect balance between display and hidden storage. A built-in beverage fridge and luminous countertop, complemented by a coordinating backsplash, bring together style, function, and sophistication.

Primary Bath

The primary bathroom received a complete refresh with custom vanity cabinetry and a modern tile backsplash. The toilet was relocated to accommodate for more storage in a linen closet. Warm wood tones pair with sleek quartzite countertops and an illuminated mirror, transforming the bath into a spa-like retreat.

Collaboration at Its Best

Working with Great Divide Builders is always a highlight for our team. Their eye for detail and dedication to quality craftsmanship made this project smooth and rewarding from start to finish. Together, we were able to deliver a home that not only looks beautiful but also functions perfectly for the homeowners’ lifestyle.
