A Striking Hickory Home near Breckenridge
For this new build in Blue River, we had the pleasure of collaborating with Shelden Custom Homes – a partnership we’ve valued for many years. It was designed for a local Breckenridge shop owner with a deep appreciation for design.
The vision was to blend the warmth and beauty of Natural Hickory with Scandinavian simplicity and Art Deco-inspired accents. Using Bridgewood Cabinetry‘s flat-panel Scandia door, the result is a space that feels modern, welcoming, and distinctly personal.
In the kitchen, Hickory cabinetry and flooring are paired with a custom-designed island panel by an artist friend, while a geometric black metal railing brings an unmistakable Art Deco edge. The bathrooms carry this same balance of function and artistry with custom vanities, basin sinks, and thoughtful material selections. Throughout the home, expansive windows, clean lines, and rich wood tones showcase the mountain setting while maintaining a refined aesthetic.
The outcome is a timeless home rooted in craftsmanship, individuality, and a clear design vision – an inspiring project that reflects both the homeowner’s creativity and the builder’s precision.
